David Tingley

Mount Allison Mounties 1994-

Riverview High Class of 1994

Dave has been playing basketball since the age of 11 and represented Basketball New Brunswick at Eastern Canadian and National tournaments starting at 15.

Dave was a part of the first Riverview High School team to capture a provincial championship under Magic fan Dave Wheaton, after which he joined the Mount Alison Mounties under coach Steve Chapman.

After moving back to greater Moncton in 2001, he began coaching the JV Boys team at Riverview High. In their second season, they captured a provincial championship and that summer he began coaching with Basketball New Brunswick with their under-16 boys program.

Dave became the assistant basketball coach with the RHS Varsity Boys team and was part of the school’s second provincial championship with coaches Mike MacDougall and Gary Fox. After having first daughter 9-years ago, Dave had to step away from coaching but has been active in men’s leagues in the area and is extremely pleased that he has been able to continue his relationship with Hub City hoops in the booth for the Miracles and now, the Magic.

Dave looks forward to continuing to polish his on-the-air work for the team along with partner Scott Squires, while continuing to contribute written content for monctonmagic.ca. A basketball-centric podcast of his own is also in the works for the fall.
