The Riverview High School Basketball Booster Club
Supporting local athletes in the pursuit of excellence
The RHS Basketball Booster Club is open to parents and community members who are committed to supporting varsity basketball and the development of athletes in our community.
The Booster Club fundraises through a variety of methods with the objective:
* Offer bursaries to two graduating athletes, preferentially one female and one male athlete each year
* To provide up to $1500/year to help subsidize new team uniforms
* To help provide a modest operating budget to each team to commence their season
* Develop a reserve fund to support the school’s acquisition of new equipment and miscellaneous needs, as they may arise
* To provide funds for the year end basketball banquet (supplies, grad gifts ect..)
The RHS Basketball Booster Club will strive to engage representatives from all junior and senior varsity teams and will hold regular meetings both during and outside of basketball season. Representation from the school and Riverview Community is welcomed and encouraged.
Fundraising initiatives may include, but are not limited to:
* Sponsorship signs
* An annual gas/food card draw
* Riverview Sunfest 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
The Booster Club was pleased to present the Riverview High school basketball program with a new NEVCO controler box for the school's scoreboard. The Booster Club also purchased a basketball shooting machine back in 2013 through funds raised by various fundraising initiatives. The machine will used to help our local athletes with their shooting.
Other recent purchases the Booster Club has invested in have been new blocking pads and also purchased 70 tickets for the boys 2014-15 AAA final at Harbour Station that they gave away to RHS students so they could attend the game and support the team.
